Richard Hodge over at Speculativebubble.com used a popular desktop game (roller coaster tycoon) to let us take a ride through the real estate market from 1890 to 2006. The roller coaster ride is based on data published by Robert Shiller. Sit back for a moment and take a ride through the market. Hold on as we enter the 21st century because it is quite a climb. If you have ever gone through the process of developing a logo, you know that what looks simple in the end is the by-product of lots of hard work. We’ve had the pleasure of working with a world class design team, Good Dog Design, over the past several months to develop our games and the look and feel of our site. Our Basecamp, site is filled with design iterations as we worked through various ideas to develop the look and feel of Realius.
Through the process, the one thing that I learned is that it is often best to let the creative minds of your design team run wild and just sit back and see what emerges. It was in one of these “hands-off” iterations that the Good Dog team came up with our logo:

That U inside the house makes me want to smile. That’s when I knew we had our logo.
